Why I Stepped Away From Vlogging—and What’s Next
It’s been a long time—too long, actually—since I posted my first vlog. If you remember it, it was called Three Truths and One Lie and it shared a bit of my heart and intentions for why I started the channel in the first place. But after that? Silence. No regular uploads. No day-in-the-life footage. Just…nothing.
So what happened?
To be honest, the pause wasn’t planned. I didn’t set out to stop vlogging. I had all the gear. I had ideas lined up. I even had moments where I felt like, “Yeah, this is the time to hit record again.” But the truth is, I just couldn’t stay consistent. And the more time that passed, the harder it felt to come back.
Looking back now, I think the biggest challenge was juggling everything else going on in my life. Vlogging takes time—filming, editing, uploading—and when you’re working full-time, chasing dreams, and handling real-life responsibilities, something’s gotta give. In my case, it was the vlog.
But it wasn’t just about time. There was also this mental block. I kept asking myself, “Is anyone even watching this? Does it matter?” I got caught in that cycle of overthinking, and it made something I once enjoyed feel like a chore. That’s never a good sign.
Still, I’ve missed this.
Not just the filming or the editing. I missed the connection. I missed being able to share my journey, my thoughts, and the behind-the-scenes of what I do. And I realized that even if I’m not getting a million views, the impact is still real. Someone might need to hear what I have to say—even if it’s just one person.
So here I am. Not promising daily vlogs or anything wild. But I’m back. And I’ve found a new way to approach this. A way that fits into my life instead of pulling me away from it. That might mean shorter videos, more thoughtful uploads, or switching platforms from time to time. But I’m not disappearing again.
